May the Force Be With You

Elijah is 7.

He asked for a Lego Star Wars Birthday party.  So. Very. Fun.

Thank-you to Skip to My Lou for the free printable cupcake toppers.

For dinner we ate:

Jar Jar Links in a Blanket (pigs in a blanket)

Vader Taters (Potato Chips)

Naboo Nibblers (Cut up fresh fruit and veggies)

Yoda Soda (Lime Sherbert and 7-Up)

Figuring out fun games is one of my favorite parts of planning my kids’ parties.  So here’s what the kids played:

1. Lego  Space Ship Building Contest

Elijah won.

2. Asteroid Hunt:

There were treasures wrapped up in each piece of foil.

These little crayon lego figures were some of them.

The asteroids were hidden all over the yard.

3. Padawan Training:

Everyone grabbed a light saber, made out of pool noodles and duct tape.

Brian threw balloons up in the air and the kids had to keep them from hitting the ground.

4.  Young Jedi Knight Light Saber Competition(While Balancing on Balance Beam):

Elijah won this game also.

The little girls wanted a turn too!

5. Destroy the Death Star:

Teams of Jedi Knights took turns throwing water balloons at the chalk drawing of the Death Star.

Darth Vader made an appearance(in the black sandals) to defend the Death Star!  In the end, he was defeated.

Goody bags:

And the contents, Lego Star Wars stickers, a light saber(chocolate covered pretzel), and chocolate lego bricks and lego figures.

The Force is strong with this one.
